Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Financier Capital Group Pty Ltd (ABN 19 149 923 151), trading as Collect Mate ("Collect Mate", "we", "us") handles personal information. We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What we collect

• When you buy: your name, email, business name, ABN, address and billing details. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card number.
• In the questionnaire: your business details, who your customers are, and how you want to be paid, so we can set up your documents.
• When you contact us: your name, email and what you tell us.
• For debt recovery: details you give us about your debtors, such as their name, contact details, business details, invoices and amounts owed, plus anything they tell us when we contact them.
• When you visit our site: basic technical information, like your browser type and the pages you visit.

We collect most information directly from you. For debt recovery, we collect debtors' information from our client (the business owed money) and from the debtor.

2. Why we collect it

• To sell you the Get Paid Pack, take payment, and prepare and deliver your documents.
• To provide debt recovery services you've authorised.
• To answer your questions and give you support.
• To send you marketing emails, if the law allows (see section 4).
• To keep records, run our business, and meet our legal obligations.

If you don't give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to provide our products or services.

3. Who we share it with

We only share personal information as needed to run our services, including with:

• Stripe (payments);
• email, website hosting, form, document and cloud storage providers;
• professional advisers, such as our accountant; and
• anyone else the law requires or allows.

Some of these providers store or process data overseas, in countries such as the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information in line with the APPs.

We don't sell personal information.

4. Marketing emails

We may email businesses about our products where the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) allows it. For example, where a business has published its email address and our message relates to its business. Every marketing email shows who we are and has an unsubscribe link. You can also reply "STOP". We'll remove you promptly, and always within 5 business days.

5. Debt recovery

When we contact a debtor on a client's behalf, we:

• act only on the client's written authority;
• use the debtor's information only to recover that debt and manage any payment plan;
• follow the ACCC and ASIC Debt collection guideline: for collectors and creditors, including contacting people at reasonable times and frequency and never harassing or misleading them;
• don't discuss the debt with anyone except the debtor, their authorised representative, or our client, unless the law allows it;
• don't report debts to credit reporting bodies; and
• never collect or hold payments. Debtors pay our client directly.

If we contact you about a debt, you can ask us what information we hold about you and where it came from.

6. Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. This includes using reputable providers, access controls and secure connections. When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it, unless the law requires us to keep it.

7. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing us. We'll respond within 30 days. If we can't give you access, we'll tell you why.

8. Cookies and analytics

Our site uses only the cookies it needs to work, plus any set by Stripe at checkout. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Complaints

If you have a privacy complaint, email us first and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
